R-hop provides an enhanced contact surface on the BB that creates a much more balanced backspin on the BB. Traditional hop-up rubbers have a small contact patch with the BB which does not deliver an effective backspin all the time. Some hop-up rubbers have two small contact patches to provide a more balanced spin, but that still does not provide a sufficiently large enough area for consistent spin. R-hops are essentially a semi-circular piece of rubber that covers 70% of the BB's upper hemisphere, providing a huge contact patch for much better backspin. Depending on the application, this can generate 5m- 25m of additional distance.
